Printing

There are three output options available when printing completed pages from Neo applications.

1. Windows® Printers and Printer Plug-ins

The applications can print directly to any printer that provides a Windows® NT/2000/XP printer driver. Timestone Software offers specific Windows® NT/2000/XP drivers for various photographic printers (as listed in the products page).

Also Timestone Software includes several printer plug-ins which create native files for various printers. Durst's Lambda and the Zeta printer fall in this category.

2. Bitmap File

The applications can create a bitmap file for each page:

This method is used when a printer does not come provided with a printer driver but instead employs a hotfolder, server approach as is the case for many digital minilabs.

3. Print Job File

For use with Timestone Software's Distributed Print Architecture.

The applications can output the information required to form the pages to a intermediate file, a Timestone Print Job file, for further processing and eventual remote printing by the PrintTime/RIPTime utilities.

A Timestone Print Job is created relatively quickly - this frees up the Neo application operator to continue on with the next job.

Exporting Images

As well as printing, the images can also be exported - correctly cropped and color corrected - from the Neo applications in any file format, resolution, grouping and naming.

This functionality allows the images to be provided for year book production and for use by school administration programs.
