CapturePost General Workflow
The general workflow when using CapturePost depends on whether or not the details of the subjects being photographed are available prior to photography day.
If the subject details are available
Prior to photography day
- DataPost (or one of the Neo applications) is to used create a new job file, import the data from a text file and create the subject database.
- Identification cards or order envelopes are printed for each subject (DataPost can be used for this purpose). Each card or envelope identifies each subject - typically with a barcode representation of their ID number.
- The cards/envelopes are handed out to each subject.
On photography day
- Each subject hands the card/envelope to the operator and walks over to get their photo taken.
- The number is scanned or entered and the subject details appear on the screen. Corrections may be made if necessary.
- Order information (if any) is scanned in.
- Picture(s) are taken and are automatically matched to the subject.
Notes:
- For subjects not in the database, a new subject entry is created for them and their details entered.
- For subjects that have misplaced their card/envelope, they are found by manually looking up their details using any field such as ID number or name.
After photography
- Images for each subject are optionally exported to disk, named according to any subject field, and burnt onto CD.
If the subject details are not available
Prior to photography day
- DataPost (or one of the Neo applications) is used to create a new job file with an empty subject database.
- Enough identification cards or order envelopes are printed to cover the expected number of subjects (DataPost can be used for this purpose). Each card or envelope contains a barcode representation of a unique number as well as space for each subject to write their details.
- The cards/envelopes are optionally handed out to each subject.
On photography day
- Subjects are supplied with a card/envelope if they do not already have one and fill in the details.
- Each subject hands the card/envelope to the operator and walks over to get their photo taken.
- The number is scanned or entered and a new empty subject is created, identified by this number.
- Time permitting, details for this subject can be optionally entered.
- Order information (if any) is optionally scanned in.
- Picture(s) are taken and are automatically matched to the subject.
After photography
- Images for each subject are optionally exported to disk, named according to any subject field, and burnt onto CD.
- If subject details were not entered on photography day, each card/envelope's number is scanned to find the subject and the details are then entered.
